Jack Lopez

Pastoral Apprentice

Jack’s journey to say “yes” to a call from the Lord to serve in pastoral ministry has been years in the making. Growing up in Kansas City, Jack became a Christian in the summer of 2010 at a youth conference where he heard the gospel taught clearly for the first time–the news that Jesus Christ lived a perfect life, died the death that we deserved, and was physically raised from death, all so we could experience restored relationship with the triune God. In 2016, he was invited to The Heights Church while a student at the University of Denver, which marked the beginning of a season of deep discipleship and personal renewal within the context of the local church. After graduating from college and working in the energy industry for a couple of years, Jack felt called to full-time ministry, accepting a position as a Journeyman (missionary) in Denver with the North American Mission Board/Send Relief, serving the poor and the vulnerable in the city. He has been married to his wife, Bella, since June 2020.

Jack is currently raising support to begin a two-year pastoral apprenticeship, where he will serve alongside the Heights staff, joining God in personal and citywide renewal and training to be a pastor in the future.
