The Heights Kids Director (PT)
Objective:
Fulfill the vision of the Heights Kids to partner with parents to help kids know and follow Jesus by (1) creating a fun and safe weekend experience that leads kids to love Jesus and his church and (2) connecting and equipping parents to form their kids in the ways of Jesus.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required:
- Demonstrates spiritual maturity
- Ability to lead volunteers and families
- Ability to create a fun and safe environment for kids
- Ability to recruit and coordinate large numbers of volunteers
- Ability to teach
- Good people skills
- Supervising/management experience (preferred)
- Kids experience (preferred)
- A team player willing to do what is best for the Heights Church and Heights Kids
Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement a Holistic Discipleship Plan from Birth through High School
- Provide organizational and spiritual leadership/supervision for children and student ministries
- Develop a scope and sequence for key discipleship outcomes for children and students
- Ensure developmental and age-appropriate discipleship materials that help children and students to know and follow Jesus
Develop and Implement a Vision for Discipleship for Parents
- Connect and communicate with new and current families
- Develop and implement a strategy to equip parents to become the disciple makers of their children
- Provide hands-on involvement and equipping opportunities for parents
Create a Fun, Safe and Formative Weekend Experience
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for parents, kids and students
- Build a team that fosters fun, safety and spiritual formation
- Stay up-to-date on safety policies and work to ensure compliance
Recruit, Equip and Lead Volunteer Teams
- Manage and build teams for kids and students
- Create an environment where volunteers feel equipped, valued and appreciated
Directly Oversee the Heights Kids
- Provide organizational and spiritual leadership/supervision for the Heights Kids, including volunteer recruitment and equipping, large group and classrooms, and Kids events and activities
- Ensure developmental and age appropriate discipleship materials for the Heights Kids
- Maintain excellent and clear communication with parents and families through regular emails, newsletters, graphics and social media interaction
- Ensure leaders and families are loved and cared for by maintaining regular contact with them
- Execute events that provide discipleship and community outreach opportunities throughout the year
Relationships w/in the Heights Team:
- I receive input from: Pastor of Formation, Executive Team
- I lead: Lay Leaders, Interns/Apprentices
Compensation:
- Part-Time (1/2): ~20 hours per week
- Pay: available upon request
- Time Off/Sick Days
- Based upon experience and tenure
- No more than 4 Sundays off per year (not including Sundays of rest)
