When you stop and think about it, the people of God have always been a bloody people. We sing songs about the blood of Jesus. In the Old Testament, the blood of animals was used to atone for sin. In communion we "drink the blood" of Jesus. How strange is that? Today we look at Exodus 12 to understand the significance of the blood of the lamb.
The story of Exodus is in many ways the story of the whole bible. It's a story about who God is, how he has saved us, and how we can enter into life with him. Exodus shows us, through the story of the people of Israel, how God draws us out in order to draw us in.
